Environmental Management Policy

Tau Pele is committed to minimizing our impact upon the environment and to ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
We strive to achieve the highest standards of environmental protection at every stage of the construction process by upholding the basic principles of environmental management. Protecting the environment is considered as important as protecting the safety of our employees.
We at Tau Pele recognizes that:
• A project exists within a physical environment that must be respected.
• All environmental impacts of a project should be addressed and managed responsibly.
• All interested and affected parties have the right to information relating to the environmental impacts of a project.
To achieve our responsibilities, Tau Pele is committed to:
• Implementing, documenting, reviewing, and maintaining an Environmental Management System, based on impact assessments and in line with acceptable international system standards.
• Ensuring the communication of the Policy and EMS with its requirements to all personnel and Sub Contractors, under our direction through induction and training.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of this communication and the understanding of the requirements by individuals on the project throughout their daily tasks.
• Enforcing management responsibility within a project to ensure compliance with the EMS and relevant environmental legislation, regulations, and standards.
• Reducing and, where possible, eliminating and preventing any harmful effects on the environment and community due to soil, air and water pollution or waste generation.
• Monitoring and reporting on our energy and water usage.
• Monitoring and reporting upon the effectiveness of the EMS on an annual basis to ensure continual improvement and compliance.
• Using quantitative objectives and targets to monitor and measure progress in all key areas as soon as these have been established.
